“Dono” in Luxembourgish means “after”. What comes after plastic? This was at the start of our project. When the City of Luxembourg and the Ministry of Infrastructure and transport were renovating the Pont-Adolphe Bridge in Luxembourg city, they covered the whole bridge into a tarpaulin.
In 2016, when the renovation work was completed, for the Adolphe Bridge to be ready for the arrival of the Luxtram, the tarpaulin was still there. COOPERATIONS, a national social and inclusive company, met with officials from the Ministry and together with the city of Wiltz, the Luxembourg hotspot city of circular economy and with designer Julie Conrad, the tarpaulin was bought and brought to Wiltz, and a workshop with workers with a disability was started from scratch. The rest is history.

Slowly, the first collection gained track “E Stéck vun der Bréck” meaning “A Piece of the Bridge”. Together with Julie Conrad, other designs were made and proposed to potential clients.
Meanwhile, all of the new designs are being developed in the atelier, also by the staff with a statute. The atelier is based in the picturesque Wiltz Castle, dating back to the 17th century.
